01Teaching framework
Safety, trust, enjoyment and fun are at the heart of TXSNOW’s teaching. Put students first and bring people skills, teaching skills and technical skills together. Help students learn with physical and emotional safety, trust and respect, enjoy the experience, and want to return.
02People skills & behaviour management
People skills open the door to learning. Use the following guide to practise listening, building connections, two-way communication, and supporting students’ emotions and behaviour.
03Session options
Confirm the student’s age, skiing or snowboarding discipline, current ability and goals, then match the session and the instructor’s authorization. See each guide for products, modules and group sizes.
| Student needs | Suitable option |
|---|---|
| Children aged 1–11 learning to ski or snowboard | Kids Master Program (KM) one-to-one sessions |
| Students aged 12+ starting out or improving technique | Academy progression series: one-to-one sessions, group sessions, or 2:4 dynamic group sessions |
| Children getting comfortable on snow, developing interest or consolidating learning | Children’s Snow Buddy Time, delivered one-to-one by a KM instructor approved for the child’s age group |
| Teenagers or adults with basic skills who want guided time on snow | Snow Buddy Time for ages 12+ |
| Students needing adaptive teaching support | Contact TXSNOW to confirm needs and match suitable qualifications and support arrangements |
For corporate team building and other group activities, contact TXSNOW to discuss needs and arrangements.
04Kids Master Program
KM serves children aged 1–11 with one-to-one instruction throughout. Instructor qualifications are reviewed separately for each age group. Use the program guide to select modules and combine sessions, adapting teaching to the child’s development and condition that day.
| Age group | Chinese name | English name |
|---|---|---|
| Ages 1–4 | 雪地萌娃 | Snow Munchkins |
| Ages 5–7 | 冰雪小勇士 | Little Heroes |
| Ages 8–11 | 少年探险家 | Young Adventurers |
For the experience requirements for each KM instructor age group and the available KM sessions, see the TXSNOW Kids Master Program Guide.
05Teach and deliver under the Statement of Work (SOW)
Follow the Instructor Statement of Work (SOW) for preparation, teaching, photos and videos, post-session feedback and delivery acceptance. Confirm the applicable requirements and pay before accepting a session. For delivery or payment questions, contact TXSNOW with the order details.
06Independent sales & session booking workflow
07Professional conduct
Keep your instructor uniform clean, tidy and free of odour. Do not reshape, stretch or cut it without permission. Wear your helmet correctly and choose equipment and clothing suitable for the weather.
Do not handle personal calls, social media or private chats during sessions. Stop in a safe place for session-related communication. Do not wear headphones or play music through speakers without written permission.
Do not smoke, drink alcohol, use illegal drugs, or teach while affected by alcohol or drugs. Do not bring pets, weapons or other dangerous items to sessions. Use necessary rescue equipment in accordance with resort rules.
Respect students, parents and resort staff. Do not humiliate, intimidate, discriminate or harass. If a dispute arises, protect people first, record the facts and contact TXSNOW.
08On-snow safety
Before the session, check everyone’s condition, equipment, weather and open terrain, and save the ski patrol emergency number for that day. Observe speed control and stopping on easy terrain before choosing a route. Adjust, pause or seek help immediately if fatigue, fear, loss of control or danger arises.
09Lift safety & group coordination
Using lifts
Before loading: practise loading, riding, unloading and the meeting point beyond the exit. Confirm that the student can follow the steps. Ask the operator to slow or stop the lift when needed. KM instructors sit beside the child on the same chair and do not hand supervision to unfamiliar passengers.
While riding: remove backpacks and secure loose straps as directed at the resort. Sit well back and securely, and use the safety bar as required. After unloading, clear the exit before adjusting equipment and counting the group.
If something goes wrong: immediately shout ‘Stop the lift!’ if someone is not seated safely, slips or becomes caught. If still on the loading platform and able to remain safely on the ground, abort loading as directed by the operator. Once airborne, do not push a child off or deliberately let go of them, jump off, or climb to attempt a rescue. If equipment slides away, secure the student first and ask staff for help.
Handing over responsibility in dynamic group sessions
For each segment, confirm the lead instructor, the sweep, each student’s assigned instructor and the next meeting point. When regrouping or when anyone leaves, both instructors must explicitly confirm the handover. Sending a message does not mean the other person has taken over.
| Temporary situation | Confirm before continuing |
|---|---|
| One instructor leaves with 1 student | The accompanying group is 1:1 and the remaining group is temporarily 1:3. Confirm names, destination, contact details and reunion arrangements. |
| One instructor leaves with several students | Check numbers, ability and supervision needs in both groups. Both groups must be manageable safely. |
| One instructor leaves; all 4 students remain | The remaining group is temporarily 1:4. This must be within the instructor’s qualifications and authorization, with safe supervision of the whole group. |
If either group cannot continue safely, pause, seek help or end safely. See the safety SOP in Section 08 for lift procedures and the dynamic group session guide in Section 03 for group coordination.
10Child pickup & late collection
Before the session, confirm the authorized pickup person and make sure the session group chat contains the pickup-code verification link for that session. Remind the pickup person to arrive 15 minutes before the session ends. Children’s Snow Buddy Time also requires one-to-one supervision and a safe handover.
- Open the verification page: the instructor opens the page assigned to this session. If your phone battery is flat, you may use the parent’s phone, but you must personally confirm the live verification and submission result.
- Verify in person: the parent or authorized pickup person enters the code on site. Check their authorization and confirm the code is correct.
- Submit: seeing a ‘Submit’ button is not enough. Submit the form and confirm success.
- Hand over personally: confirm that the child has been received by the authorized person. Record who received the child and the actual handover time.

No Submit button appears. Check the code again.

A Submit button appears. Click it and confirm that submission succeeds.
The time a class photo was taken cannot replace the actual handover time. If the code is wrong, the page fails or authorization is uncertain, stay with the child and verify with the guardian and TXSNOW.
Late collection: immediately contact the parent, emergency contact and customer service. Continue supervising in a safe place where the child can stay warm. The platform coordinates any impact on your next session. Do not leave before a formal handover. If contact remains unsuccessful, ask customer service and the resort for assistance, and record who takes over and when. Do not delay an emergency medical handover while waiting for a pickup code.
The pickup code can also be set in the pre-session intake form. The setup page does not replace the verification page used at pickup.
11Incident response & reporting
Stop the relevant activity, secure the scene and arrange supervision of other students. Contact ski patrol; call 911 for a life-threatening emergency. Stay with the injured person and continue cooperating after patrol arrives. Do not leave to chase another party involved. Notify TXSNOW and ensure the guardian is contacted. Leave only after care has been handed over.
| Situation | Immediate action |
|---|---|
| Suspected head, neck or spinal injury | Stop the activity and call ski patrol. Do not move the person or remove their helmet on your own initiative. Provide necessary first aid within your training and as directed by emergency dispatch. |
| Suspected concussion | Stop on-snow activity, contact ski patrol and obtain medical assessment. Follow professional medical advice on subsequent activity. |
| Abnormal consciousness or breathing, or worsening symptoms | Call 911 immediately and notify ski patrol. Give first aid as directed by dispatch and within your training. |
| Missing student or suspected abduction | Stop the group and count everyone. Notify the resort and TXSNOW immediately. The resort coordinates the search. Supervise the remaining students, cooperate with instructions and do not leave the group on your own initiative. Call 911 for immediate danger or suspected abduction. |
Reporting: submit an initial report within 2 hours of the incident and complete it within 24 hours. Rescue takes priority; explain any delay. Record facts, actions, notifications and handovers using the platform’s designated reporting channel. Report missing students and serious near misses even if nobody is injured.
12Lateness & make-up time
You may share the client policy at any time to explain lateness, make-up time and pickup arrangements. Follow the instructor SOP for notifications, waiting, make-up time and records.
13Client rescheduling & cancellation
The client’s 24-hour rule and the instructor’s 48-hour principle apply separately. You may share the client policy at any time. Follow the SOP to process requests, confirm arrangements and tag customer service to update the record. Cancelling a booking does not itself mean a refund. Refer fee calculations to customer service.
14Instructor changes, no-shows & the 48-hour principle
48-hour principle: after accepting a booking, notify the student and TXSNOW at least 48 hours in advance if a change is needed. Arrange a qualified substitute or follow-up arrangements as early as possible. Notify them as soon as you know you cannot teach.
Count the 48-hour principle back from the original session start time, using the resort’s local time and the recorded time the notice was received in the session group chat or by customer service.
| Notice or situation | What the instructor does | Resulting arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| At least 48 hours before the session, including exactly 48 hours | Notify the student and TXSNOW. Recommend a qualified substitute or agree on rescheduling or a date to be confirmed. | No breach liability and no additional free compensation session. |
| More than 24 hours but less than 48 hours before the session | Personally find a qualified contracted instructor available at the original time and resort, and update customer service. | If you personally find a qualified substitute: no breach liability. If you do not: 50% of that session’s standard base pay is deducted. |
| 24 hours or less before the session, before it begins | Contact TXSNOW immediately and cooperate in arranging the original session and compensation session. | The unfulfilled original session remains available, plus 1 free compensation session of the same type and duration. |
| No-show: lateness reaches the full booked session duration, or the entire original time slot is unfulfilled | Report the facts immediately and work with customer service to arrange the original session and compensation sessions. | The original session remains available, plus 2 free compensation sessions of the same type and duration. |
A substitute must meet the original session’s program, level and age-group requirements. Update the order after platform confirmation and client consent. In the second tier, if you personally find a qualified substitute, there is no breach liability even if the client chooses to reschedule with the original instructor or leave the date unconfirmed.
Record the original session and additional compensation sessions separately. In the third tier, the 1 compensation session still applies even if a substitute completes the original session. Apply the final applicable tier to a single incident: do not stack the 50% deduction with compensation sessions. A no-show means 2 additional compensation sessions in total. If compensation cannot be completed, customer service handles it under the Instructor Agreement. An official resort closure is not treated as an instructor breach.
Remember the 48-hour principle. The client’s 24-hour rescheduling rule does not replace the instructor’s 48-hour principle.
